Voices of the River

Jagun Alliance presents Voices of the River, an evening of short films sharing Bundjalung voices and stories of the river, as part of Richmond RiverFest 2026. 

 

The program brings together four short films: Remembering Water, Guung Butherun, Cubawee: A Place of Plenty and The Crossing. Following the screenings, stay for a panel discussion, with Mitch King as MC. 

 

Voices of the River is presented through Heal the Rivers, a First Nations-led program restoring cultural landscapes and using nature-based solutions for flood mitigation and adaptation across the Northern Rivers. 

 

Heal the Rivers is funded by the Australian Government through the Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program 2022-23 administered by the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
